Sometimes, the best adventures begin when things don't go according to plan.
For us, that was exactly what happened in 2018.
During a trip that turned out very differently than we had expected, circumstances beyond our control meant that our plans had to change at the last minute. Instead of the trip we had originally planned, we ended up staying in a vacation home here in Florida.
We already loved Florida. In many ways, it had always felt like our second home. But the moment we walked through the doors of that house, something changed. We fell in love with it instantly.
It wasn't just the house itself. It was the feeling. The space, the layout, the location and the idea of having a place where families could come together, relax, make memories and enjoy everything Florida has to offer.
That was the moment a dream was born:
One day, we would have a home like this of our own, that we could share with others.
Over the years that followed, we returned to Florida many times and stayed in several vacation homes in this area. Every stay taught us something. We discovered things we absolutely loved, things we thought could be improved, and little details that made a house feel more like a home.
Without really realizing it, we were building a picture of what our own vacation home should look like.
And then, in 2025, things started moving...
In September 2025, we visited a vacation and real estate conference in the Netherlands and things started moving quickly.
In December 2025, we came to Florida and viewed several properties. A few months later, in February 2026, we returned to look at more homes.
And then we walked into this one.
To be completely honest, the house wasn't perfect. It needed quite a bit of love, attention and work. But we didn't see what the house was at that moment.
We saw what it could become.
What immediately caught our attention was the layout. It was similar to the house where our dream had first started back in 2018.
And there was something even more special about it:
It was in the very same community where that original dream had begun.
Walking through the house felt strangely familiar. It felt like coming home.
We immediately thought back to the wonderful memories we had made in 2018, and suddenly this didn't feel like just another property we were looking at.
It felt like the one.
The rollercoaster begins
The weeks that followed were anything but predictable.
At first, it looked like the house had already been sold. Our dream seemed to have disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared.
But a few weeks later, unexpectedly, the house came back onto the market.
We didn't hesitate.
We moved quickly and submitted our offer — and in April 2026, we officially became the owners of this home.
And then the real work began.
In the next several months we spent turning the house from a property into our home. We painted, renovated, decorated, made countless decisions and worked on all the little details that felt would make a difference. We kept refining it and adding those personal touches that mattered to us.
We put blood, sweat and tears into this home, but above all, a lot of love, getting it ready for the next chapter.
From our dream to your memories
And now, that chapter has arrived.
After years of dreaming, planning, searching, renovating and putting our hearts into this home, we are finally ready to open the doors and welcome our first guests.
We hope that when you walk through those same doors, you feel some of what we felt back in 2018.

This home started with a dream and became something very special to us.
